When your head is a messy cube

It's amazed me how many people relate to this feeling - the seemingly out-of-control mass of thoughts that pass through our heads, which can, occasionally, leave us reeling. Carving what appears to be a random scribble in lino is far more difficult than you might think; to keep that fluidity in the line and achieve the variation in depth was a challenge. The Awagami washi paper is so lightweight that I don't use a press to print this edition; instead, each one is printed using a glass baren.

Polly Marix Evans is a contemporary artist and printmaker living and working in Cumbria.
