About the artist:
Rachel Brooks Read is artist whose practice embraces a range of media, in particular painting, printmaking and collage. Her work is informed by having studied illustration and graphic design, and by her career in art education. Rachel has been a member of a studio collaborative in Hove,East Sussex, for many years and exhibited both locally and at a national level. Some recent work has seen her depart from a completely narrative form of figurative art to a more abstract way of expressing her ideas, although she feels very strongly that drawing and working from observation form the bedrock of this departure.
