About the artist:
Born and working in Sussex, Ros Lymer's work explores reactions to the colours, structures and elements in the stunning landscape around her. Each painting starts as an abstract composition, playing with shape, colour and mood. Ros often adds scoured lines, scribbled pencil lines and sanded surfaces to create contrast and texture. Her walks in the countryside and the peace it provides are always in her consciousness when working but seldom inform the composition directly. Ros works with oil paint, mixed media and textile media. She prefers to work on wood panels as these can be scratched into and give clear sharp edges to some brush marks.
