About the artist:
Sarah works from her home studio in Brighton producing work from figurative to semi-abstract working in a variety of mediums from acrylic, watercolour, oil to drawings in graphite and charcoal. Her work has found a seasonal rhythm. During the colder winter months she works on series of larger paintings in the studio often informed by sketches from the previous summer - most recently large wood panels of semi abstract florals and trees in acrylic. The warmer weather provides a time for gathering inspiration. Sarah is often out on the Downs painting, sketching and either producing smaller final works on paper or taking these back to the studio as ideas to develop. Aware of the world and its current fragility and suffering, Sarah’s work aims to bring notice to and celebrate the gentle beauty in nature - meditative moments when nothing much is happening - sunrises and dusks and the landscapes in between.
