About the artist:
Shirley May loves Plein Air Painting in acrylics and is a Member of Brighton Painting Group (BPG) and Worthing Painting Group (WPG). She studied Art and Printmaking at Brighton University (Polytechnic) in the 1990s. She has exhibited with the Society of Sussex Painters, Sculptors and Printmakers (SSP) in the last few years, also acting as their Secretary. She took part in Sky Landscape Artist of the Year (LAOTY) 2025 as a Wild Card at St James's Park, London. Selected for exhibition in Patching’s Open Art Comeptition 2020 and 2023, and winning the Caran D’Ache Award 2020. Shirley loves colour, skies, expanse, light effects in the landscape, and thick paint.
