About the artist:
Wei Hou is a Taiwanese illustrator and comic artist based in Brighton, UK. Her practice explores everyday narratives and emotional moments through comics, zines and print-based storytelling. These three-colour risograph prints focus on coffee, movement and small gestures of connection. Using layered colour, grainy texture and delicate line work, Wei captures soft yet slightly distant scenes of daily life, a morning coffee, a hug, or a quiet pause indoors. Having lived between Taiwan, Japan and the UK, she is interested in how ordinary moments can carry feelings of loneliness, care and belonging. She is drawn to risograph printing for its tactile qualities and subtle imperfections, allowing the printed surface itself to become part of the story.
