About the artist:
Hunt’s work brings together richly textured images of intersecting perspectives at the boundary of land and sea. Drawing on hidden geological forces, layered histories of landscape, and the symbols of mapping, he reinterprets the coastal environment through serigraphy. Photographs, drawings, diagrams and literary references are filtered, layered and concealed to create prints that hover between abstraction and representation, revealing both the tangible and intangible. The process transforms accumulated experiences of place into fragmented glimpses of past and present. He harnesses the tension between chance and order which involves controlling and surrendering to the process: collaborating with circumstances. A Master Printer with more than 31 years’ experience, he has produced prints for national and international artists and teaches Fine Art Printmaking at the University of Brighton. He has exhibited at the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (RE 2024) and Brighton University.
