About the artist:
Ellie is an illustrator, designer and writer with a passion for environmental issues. Through her work, she celebrates colour and form, exploring themes such as identity in a disconnected world or reminding people of the wonder in nature. She was recently shortlisted for the Batsford Prize. Ellie is lucky enough to be a graduate of the M.A in Children’s Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art, which was instrumental in evolving her art-making process. She loves stencilling and print-making, as well as working with layers of pencil, ink and paint. As a child, Ellie found inspiration everywhere and ideas for pictures and stories would cascade out of her head. Thankfully, this is still the case. Now, she makes picture books, takes commissions, designs products and patterns and makes gifs. When she isn’t drawing, Ellie spends her days sniffing books, laughing at her cat, walking in the woods, admiring 60s wallpaper and trying to hug her ever-growing kids.
