This print depicts a late-summer view from my studio balcony in Brighton’s North Laine. Across Bond Street, a couple hold hands outside a café while a noisy seagull watches from above. The composition brings together a collection of details from the street: a shop window filled with bread, a bicycle, marble and brick patterns, and a John Craxton-inspired cat. I have also introduced a Picasso influence, reflecting my connection with Málaga, where my mother was born. This is the view from my studio at Studio Greenhouse, a cooperative of creative people working under one roof. With almost ten years in the studio, I am creating a series of prints celebrating the places, people and everyday details that surround me and have become part of my life.
Giclée print. Limited edition of 100.
Dimensions: 29.7 x 42 cm (A3).
