Il Gatto Addormentato a Sant Elmo Napoli

A cat rests in the shade on the stone steps of Sant’Elmo Castle in San Martino, high above Naples, overlooking the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. I visited Naples in April 2026, having travelled there several times before. This time, I began developing a series of prints inspired by the city’s architecture, geography, street life and history. Views of the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius have fascinated artists for centuries. My approach takes a contemporary view of the city, combining its iconic landscape with details such as street cats, historic buildings, streets and the dense relationship between the city and the bay. The series uses line, texture and digitally applied colour to capture the strong light and distinctive colours of the southern Mediterranean. Limited edition pigment print of a series of 100.

His practice evolved from a lifelong passion for drawing, combining architectural precision with expressive ink, texture and colour. Inspired by direct experience and the act of “standing and staring”, he finds order within everyday chaos.
