Birdcanfox Ceramics is run by Bristol ceramicist and designer Liz Davies who sculpts by hand using porcelain and grogged stoneware clays to create colourful and often humorous pieces inspired by the natural world, animals and their changing relationship with humans throughout the ages. When working in her garden studio she’s often accompanied by her rescue cats who regularly knock over work in progress far too regularly! Despite studying Fine Art at university, Liz has no formal training in Ceramics but it was something she did as a hobby that grew central to her creative practice when ill health meant a career in Film production was no longer possible. During the past ten years her practice has developed to include product design which led to designing ceramic homewares for Anthropologie and John Lewis.
