p>Following a career as an illustrator and then an academic in a university, Jane primarily focusses her time on developing her work as a book artist, printmaker and ceramicist, working from her studio in South West London. Her artists books explore the development of narratives through the handling qualities of books, experimenting with the physical form of the book and the surface quality of different papers. Jane has recently started to work with ceramics, making slip cast moulds to her own design, drawing upon her skills developed as an illustrator, to create original designs and patterns. Common themes in Janes work are the natural world, a sense of place, memory and the domestic. Her artists books are held in private and public collections including the V&A National Art Library, Tate Britain, and the Yale Collection of British Arts.
