[The uncanny is the psychological experience of something as strangely familiar, rather than simply mysterious. It may describe incidents where a familiar thing or event is encountered in an unsettling, eerie, or taboo context].
In other words, "Uncanny" is that strangely familiar feeling! Pikaya has started her uncanny collection during the first weeks of the London lockdown, while we were all going through a period that we all experienced for the first time. We spent incredible amounts of time indoors, mainly with no social contacts, anything familiar with our daily routine has changed though in a strange way and still this completely new experience was "strangely familiar" to us. Many of us found even comfort during this unsettling time. Uncanny collection is questioning the meaning of crowds to us, loneliness and reconnecting to oneself.
In Flow Ring is created through the process of lost wax carving, hand-cast in silver, hand finished to high standard shiny finish and gold plated to a tick layer to protect it from tarnish.
